About me - Heyn de Kock Photography
Takahe, Tiritiri Matangi, NZ, March 2015a

I am an amateur wildlife photographer residing on the Gold Coast, Australia. I have a special interest in birds, especially seabirds and shorebirds. My aim is to photograph a member of each of the bird (IOC) and mammal families. My galleries currently represent species from Australasia, Southern Africa and North America. I hope to expand on my list! My collection is currently represented by 996 species of birds in 134 families and 104 species of mammals in 34 families.

My wife Lauren reluctantly started photographing with me and now has a real passion for African wildlife photography, many images on this site was taken by her.

I exclusively use Nikon gear; my bag (Think Tank Airport Commuter) currently contains: Camera bodies: Nikon D500, D750 and D7200 Lenses: Nikon 500mm f/4 VR FL, Nikon 300mm f/4 VR PF, Nikon 70-200mm f/4 VR, Nikon 50mm f/1.8 and Nikon 20mm f/1.8.
